What we’ve realized over the years is that when a new customer asks “How does hiring a writer work?” they’re really asking “how can I trust you?” There are a lot of writing companies, and some of them have dirtied the pool for us honest academics. Good writing companies aren’t afraid of transparency and discussion, so the first step is to email or call us and we are open to whatever you’d like to ask!  We are real people, writing real papers and we love what we do.

These days, anybody can put up a website, so if you aren’t sure if a company is trustworthy it’s a good idea to communicate with a real person through whatever method is easiest for you. We are available Monday through Saturday, 9am-8pm EST via phone and email 24/7!

The next step after establishing trust when you hire a writing service for the first time is to order a small amount of work. We get a plentitude of referrals, so if you are new with us, try us (or any other writing service) out before ordering a lot of pages. This won’t be a problem for serious companies.

Most all of our clients like what they read, but when the trial is finished you can ask questions or make suggestions. Nothing is written in stone (no pun). That way we know exactly what to do when you order the rest of the paper.

Step Three: Send Instructions

What You Want and What You Need

After ordering a sample, the next step is to send documents and instructions. You may send them through email or through the website, but always, always send them. You can also tell us over the phone but with an email, we can double check for reference. Every writing service company should absolutely know what to ask for, but when in doubt don’t take chances.

Step Four: Planning the Work

Review

After you have received the trial, look it over, and either ask questions or order the rest of the paper. By now the service you are working with should be able to quote the full paper and give you a date when it will be ready. Please note that this is not always true because some types of writing, like dissertations, will tend to have more edits. However, for most papers this is the last step, and you can go about your life and wait to receive your completed paper.

Couple things that can help when you hire a writer for the first time:

 

Give a Deadline: Always tell the company your deadline, and to set it a little early! You’ll want time to look everything over before you submit it.

Be Complete: Forget a point or two? You can always quickly send any new information or questions before the writing starts. Keep in mind that if the instructions change after the writing starts then its extra work for the writer, and it could be more expensive for you.

Let me share something I have learned on my journey: Having the energy to maintain a level of focus, determination and structure is not always easy to do daily. It was hard for me at first to delegate any kind of work to freelancers. It was part control (ego) and part fear. Could I trust the freelancer?
